How to Maintain Your Resin Bound Driveway
A common question we get asked is How to Maintain Your Resin Bound Driveway? Fortunately, resin bound drives are easy to maintain which is a huge benefit when you compare it to other surfaces. Basically, other than a light brush of leaves in autumn and perhaps a jet wash every few years that's really all that's needed to ensure it stays pristine and functional for years to come. Moreover, because it's real gravel bound by UV stable resin which is SUDS compliant to let water drain away, moss build up is less likely.
If you're really keen or have an oil spill from your car or stain you'd like to remove, then here's a more detailed guide on how to maintain your resin bound driveway.
General Cleaning of Your Resin Bound Drive
Unsurprisingly, sweeping away leaves, twigs and other debris with a broom prevents dirt build-up and keeps the surface looking neat. Depending on the season and weather conditions, for example, during autumn, when leaves fall more frequently, you might need to sweep more often.

Deeper Cleaning if needed?
Optionally, a deeper clean with a pressure washer. Perhaps once every few years, you can give your driveway a deeper clean with a pressure washer. Crucially, use a fan nozzle and a low to medium pressure setting (around 150 bar) to avoid damaging the surface. Importantly, always test the pressure washer on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't dislodge the aggregates. During winter and if we do get snow, if you choose to remove the snow and ice do it gently using a plastic shovel. Avoid using salt or de-icing chemicals, as they can damage the resin. Here's some reasons when you might need a deeper clean -
Moss and Algae Removal

It's unusual on resin bound surfaces but if in shaded or damp areas, moss or algae growth occurs, it's easily removed. Simply, using a solution of warm water and a mild household detergent can usually remove mild growth. For stubborn cases, a specialised moss and algae remover might be necessary. Crucially, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water after using any cleaning solutions.
Spills and Stains

It's always a good idea to address spills promptly to prevent them from setting in. For example, oil or grease spills, blot up as much as possible with absorbent material. You can then use a mild detergent solution to clean the area and rinse thoroughly. However, avoid harsh chemicals, don't use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on your resin bound driveway, as they can damage the surface.
